Travel & Tourism Course

Travel & Tourism Course aims to provide the trainee with the basic skills required in the field of tourism and travel, tourism agencies and travel offices and thus the possibility of the graduate to join the work within the tourism companies, travel offices and airlines.

Course Objectives:

  • List and explain the basic concepts of travel and tourism and explore the selected issues that currently influence the tourism industry both locally and globally.
  • Discuss the terminology used in travel and tourism and introduce students to the various areas of tourism and how it affects the destination.
  • Describe and discuss how travel and tourism evolved over a period and reached the modern stage.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to understand fundamentals of tourism from the management, marketing, and financial perspectives.
  • Students will be able to apply and differentiate the concepts of travel and tourism, the framework of the system, types, and form of tourism as well as the impacts of tourism.
  • Students will be able to describe the different types of tourism resources of KSA, their importance in tourism and management and use the Amadeus Travel system.

Technical Skills:

  • Cooperate with clients to determine their needs and advising them appropriate destination, mode of transportations, travel dates, costs, and accommodations.
  • Providing relevant information, brochures, and publications to travelers, and
  • Book transportation, make hotel reservations, collect payments/fees and deal with occurring travel problems, complaints, or refunds.
