Restaurant Management Diploma – 24 Month

Restaurant Management Diploma is designed based on the need of the local market to specialize in the management of restaurants as the world is witnessing an increasing increase in catering services in hotels or independent restaurants with a sophisticated template that simulates the tastes of different people of all levels. The program includes training in basic skills in specialization such as restaurant management, catering skills, party services, cost accounting, menu planning.

Course Objectives:

  • Introduce and describe the fundamental principles relating to Hotel Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Account Management and Tourism within the Hospitality Industry.
  • Identify and describe the core components of Restaurant, Conference and Event Management and introduce and explain the fundamentals of Menu Planning and Cost Control.
  • Recognize and explain the various types of F&B Service, inform, and describe the relationship and importance of food safety in Restaurant Management.
  • Describe and recognize the value of understanding good communication skills, customer service and protocols.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to apply language and computer skills in their personal and professional environments.
  • Students will be able to practice and apply the different food and beverage service techniques in fast food and fine dinning sectors. Students will also be able to devise and assemble various hot and cold dishes.
  • Students will be able to design and manage a menu plan and analyze and compare cost control measures.
  • Students will be able to practice and demonstrate a working knowledge of the Micros computer operating system.

Technical Skills:

  • Able to effectively recruit and manage employees as per the standards laid out by the hiring organization.
  • Oversee restaurant operations and handle customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Generate financial reports as per the requirements of the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations and manage inventory.
